Dryer drum drive belt. This belt is approximately 1/4" wide x 92-1/4" long. It is flat on one side and has 4 ribs and 3 grooves on the other. It replaces many other belts, including some with 5 ribs and 4 grooves. The belt attaches to the motor pulley and spins the drum as the motor rotates

Dryer won't start

Dryer timer. The timer controls the dryer operations. Be aware that the dryer must heat properly for the timer to advance in an automatically timed cycle.

The timer might be defective. However, this is very rarely the case. Before replacing the timer, check all the more commonly defective parts. If you determine that all of the other components are working properly, test the timer by using a multimeter and consulting the wiring diagram. If the timer is defective, replace it.

Dryer stopped spinning

A dryer drum that has stopped spinning unexpectedly could be caused by a faulty timer. However, this is very rarely the case. Before replacing the timer, check all the more commonly defective parts. Dryer won't stop

Mechanical timers have a motor on them like a clock that rotates the timer down to the off position on the control panel. If the motor goes bad on the timer it will not move when set to a timed dry cycle and the dryer won’t stop.

Dryer has a burning smell

Contacts in the timer can become worn over time and fail to make good contact. When this happens, the contacts can overheat and arc, potentially producing a burning smell from the timer.
