Washer won't spin

Washing machine tub counterbalance spring. This spring offsets the weight of the motor on the front of the washer. If broke, the tub will lean forward and the tub will be off balance during the spin cycle.

If a washer won't spin, a broken suspension spring could be making the tub unbalanced and unable to rotate properly. Inspect the suspension springs for damage and replace if necessary - it is recommended that all springs be replaced at the same time for more even wear.
