All of the information in this replacement video is applicable to the following brands: Ryobi
Step-By-Step Instructions1
Before you replace the throttle trigger spring in your string trimmer,
2
Make sure the engine has cooled.
3
We recommend performing this procedure with little or no fuel in the tank.
4
Using a T20 Torx bit, unthread the four screws securing the throttle housing.
5
Separate the two halves of the housing and you can remove the old spring if it's still intact.
6
Before you install the new throttle trigger spring, confirm that the throttle cable is positioned in the housing and reattach the cable to the trigger if necessary.
7
Now align the spring in the housing, then realign the trigger so the end of the spring inserts into the hole in the trigger.
8
Reposition the lockout lever if required, then realign the two halves of the housing.
9
Rethread the screws to hold the assembly together.
10
Refill the fuel tank if necessary, and your string trimmer should be ready for use.
