To replace the spool spring on your string trimmer, depress the two retaining tabs to release the lower trimmer head housing.

If still intact, you can now twist the old spring to remove it.

Install the new spool spring by aligning it on the center hub of the upper trimmer head housing and twisting to lock it into place.
4
Realign the lower housing assembly on the upper housing and spring, then snap it into place.
