Power systems with this genuine OEM transformer, part number 5537, compatible with select Kenmore or Bryant Humidifier or Range/Stove/Oven.

The transformer might be defective. However, this is rarely the case. First check the light bulb, socket, and light switch. If none of these components is defective, the transformer might be at fault. The transformer is not repairable—if the transformer is defective, you must replace it.

Humidifier not getting water

Some furnaces have a separate transformer to provide 24 volts to the humidifier. If the water inlet valve is not receiving 24 volts and the contacts in the humidistat are closing as expected, it's likely the transformer has failed and the component will need to be replaced.

Humidifier drum won't turn

Some furnaces have a separate transformer to provide voltage to the humidifier to turn the drum. If the humidifier is not receiving the proper voltage, but the contacts in the humidistat are closing as expected, it's likely the transformer has failed and the component will need to be replaced.
