Refrigerator not cooling

Power up repairs with this genuine OEM control board, part number W11035752, for select Amana, Maytag, Whirlpool, or Ikea Refrigerator models.

The control board might be defective. However, this is almost never the cause. Before replacing the control board, test all of more commonly defective parts. If none of the other components are defective, consider replacing the control board.

Refrigerator water dispenser not working

The dispenser control board governs most of the functions of the dispenser system. If the control board is faulty, it may stop supplying power to the entire dispenser system. If only one dispenser part is not working, test each of the dispenser components before testing the control board. It is more likely that a single part has failed. If the entire dispenser system is not working, the control board is more likely to be at fault.

Refrigerator ice maker not working

The refrigerator's control board controls the voltage being sent to the ice maker. If the control board is defective, the ice maker may not work at all. You can inspect the board for signs of damage or a shorted component. You can also use a multimeter to determine if voltage is reaching the ice maker after reviewing the refrigerator's wiring diagram.

Refrigerator ice dispenser not working

A refrigerator's control board governs most of the functions of the appliance including the dispenser system. If the control board is faulty, it may stop supplying power to the entire dispenser system. If only one dispenser part is not working, test each of the dispenser components before testing the control board. It is more likely that a single part has failed. If the entire dispenser system is not working, the control board is more likely to be at fault.

Refrigerator not defrosting

The control board regulates the power supply to all of the refrigerator components, including the defrost system. If the main control board is defective, it may stop sending voltage to the defrost system. Control boards are frequently misdiagnosed—before replacing the main control, first test all of the defrost system components. If none of the defrost system components are defective, consider replacing the control board.

Refrigerator is noisy or loud

Since the control board regulates the power supply to all of the refrigerator components, including the defrost system, it's possible a faulty control board is not sending power to the defrost heating element. This could cause enough frost or ice to build up near the evaporator fan blade to create a noise when the fan is spinning. If there is frost or ice buildup, you should confirm that all of the defrost system components are working properly before replacing the control board.

Refrigerator defrost drain clogged

The control board regulates the power supply to all of the refrigerator components, including the defrost system. If the control board is defective, it may stop sending voltage to the defrost system which can lead to the defrost drain becoming clogged with ice. Control boards are frequently misdiagnosed—before replacing the main control, first test all of the defrost system components. If none of the defrost system components are defective, consider replacing the control board.

Refrigerator freezer is cold but refrigerator is warm

The control board might be defective. However, the control board is very rarely the cause of the problem. Before replacing the control board, first test all of the more commonly defective components. If none of these components are defective, consider replacing the control board.

Refrigerator leaking water

A shorted dispenser control board could be signaling for continuous water to be sent to the dispenser resulting in a leak. Inspect the control board for any burn marks or signs of damage and try replacing the board if all other dispenser components appear to be working properly.

Refrigerator freezing food

The control board might be defective. However, the control board is very rarely the cause of the problem. Before replacing the control board, first test all of the more commonly defective components. If none of these components are defective, consider replacing the main control board.

Refrigerator ice and water dispenser not working

If both the ice and water dispenser are not working, the control board might be defective. However, the control board is rarely at fault for this problem. Before replacing the control board, first check all of the dispenser components. If none of the dispenser components are defective, consider replacing the control board.

Refrigerator light not working

While it's not a likely cause, a defective control board could be responsible for a refrigerator light not working. You can inspect the board for signs of burning or a shorted-out component. You can also use a multimeter to determine if the board is sending voltage to the light socket or plug-in connecter. If no voltage is present, you'll know the board is defective and will need to be replaced.

Refrigerator runs constantly

If the refrigerator runs constantly, the control board might be defective. A few times a day the control board is supposed to turn off the cooling system and turn on the defrost heater to melt away any frost that may have accumulated on the freezer evaporator coils. If the control board is defective it could cause the system to never cycle into defrost.

Refrigerator coffee maker leaking

If the refrigerator coffee maker is leaking, it's possible the coffee maker is dispensing too much water. This can be caused by a defective control board continuing to allow voltage to be sent to the water inlet valve, keeping the valve open. You can inspect the control board for signs of burning or a shorted-out component. You should first confirm there are no cracks or holes in the coffee maker container or hoses connected to the dispenser, as well as determine the inlet valve is functioning normally before considering a control board replacement.

Refrigerator control panel not working

The control board might be defective. However, the control board is rarely at fault for this problem. Before replacing the control board, first check all of the dispenser components. If none of the dispenser components are defective, consider replacing the control board.

Refrigerator freezer not freezing

Control boards are often misdiagnosed—before replacing the control board, first check more commonly defective parts. If you have determined that all of the other components are working properly, replace the control board.

Refrigerator has a bad smell or burning smell

If one of the components has failed it can produce a burning smell from that area. Look for a stuck fan motor or a shorted control board.

Refrigerator has frost or ice buildup

Ice Maker in Refrigerator Compartment Not Working

Refrigerator not running

If nothing is working on the refrigerator, it's likely the control board is defective. However, this is almost never the cause. Before replacing the main control board, test all of more commonly defective parts. If none of the other components are defective, consider replacing the control board.

Refrigerator beeping/alarm sounding

If the refrigerator is cooling properly and the door switch is functioning normally, a faulty control board could be the cause of the beeping noise. Replace the old control board with a new one to see if that resolves the problem.
